For those who have followed the WSU Music Department over the years, the program has moved from the Schaver Music Building at the north end of campus to the renovated Old Main Building. Although there is now plenty of space to operate, fiscal constraints are a continual challenge.

Here is where you come into the picture! As a friend of the WSU Music Department, we are asking for your support in raising funds to assist the Department. Each year, the Department has opportunities to host guest artists, send student soloists and ensembles to off-campus performances and conferences, and assist faculty artists and scholars in on-going research and creative activity. However, the Department is not always able to meet these myriad needs.

For a very affordable $25.00 membership, you become a member of the “Friends of Music” for one (1) year. In addition, you will also receive a membership card that provides free admission for you and a guest to all WSU concerts, and, except where specified, your name will be listed in special WSU concert program booklets as a member of “Friends of Music.”

Donations over $25 are automatically tax-deductible and will be receipted by the WSU Office of Development. Any donation over $1,000 will also include an engraved plate to be placed on a chair arm in the Schaver Recital Hall. Although many chairs were named in the initial campaign a few years ago, there are still chairs to be named in the hall!

Whether you are a “Tartar,” a “Warrior,” or just a supporter of the WSU Music Department, we thank you so very much for your consideration, and look forward to your membership in the Friends of Music!
